Ned Takes Advantage Of Laura’s Support Of Heather To Win Back Mayorship!

General Hospital spoilers tease that for the most part, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has been one of the best mayors that Port Charles has ever had. She been in the position for years and has a strong following at this point. But recent events could cause Laura to lose the support, and the votes, that she needs to remain in the position.

Laura is taking a strong position against mobster Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard), but when it comes to Heather Webber (Alley Mills), Laura seems to be taking the opposite approach.

General Hospital Spoilers – Heather Webber Has A History Of Violence And Murder!

As viewers know, Heather has been in Port Charles for decades. While she’s never been the most honest person, in recent years she’s become dangerously violent.

Heather even became the serial killer known as “The Hook” just a couple years ago. But during a recent examination at General Hospital, the doctors there discovered something shocking about Heather.

Years ago, Heather had a hip replacement and the new hip was apparently faulty, leaking cobalt into her bloodstream.

There’s reason to believe at least some of Heather’s more violent tendencies are due to the cobalt in her system.

GH Spoilers – Public Reaction To Heather Webber Is Intense!

Laura’s been looking into Heather’s case. She’s even considering whether or not Heather should spend the rest of her life in prison and wants to have the case at least reopened because of the new evidence. But the truth is that Heather murdered several people, including a police officer.

Her victims had families who loved them and won’t be happy if Heather goes free, cobalt poisoning or not.

So the support for Laura as mayor could diminish significantly if she pursues Heather’s case. She may not have enough support to win another election, especially if Heather goes free.

General Hospital Spoilers – Ned Quartermaine Was Mayor Before Laura Collins.

Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) was a successful mayor before losing the election to Laura a few years back. Ned hasn’t been happy working at ELQ in a long time so once he gets wind of Laura’s troubles as mayor, he could easily decide to step in and run against her.

He could use Laura’s support of Heather to drum up enough support to win the election, thus relieving Laura of the position.

It may be too late to keep Heather in prison, but Ned take a much harder approach to crime hoping she’ll slip up so he can have the cops put her back behind bars. If that happens, Laura would have sacrificed herself for nothing.

What Do You Think?

Should Laura have Heather’s case re-opened? Could Heather actually go free? How will her support of Heather impact Laura’s position as mayor? Anything can happen in Port Charles so stay tuned to General Hospital airing weekdays on ABC.
