The son of 15-time major winner Tiger Woods overcame a bogey-double bogey start at Eagle Trace Golf Club to finish with a 1-under 71. “I didn’t play great my first two holes, but I played really good for the last 16. I just told myself not to make any more bogeys or doubles and I took advantage of some nice birdie looks when I had them,” expressed the young golfer after his impressive recovery.

The 15-year-old’s accomplishment mirrors his father’s early career trajectory. Tiger Woods was 14 when he first qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur, reaching the semifinals. A year later, he won his first U.S. Junior Amateur at Bay Hill in a dramatic 19-hole match. Tiger Woods is a nine-time USGA champion, a record that began with his fantastic trio of victories at the U.S. Junior Amateur (1991-1993); the only player to win the U.S. Junior three consecutive times.
