During his weekly radio appearance on Tuesday morning, Jerry Jones said Odell Beckham Jr. “could look pretty good” with a Cowboys star on his helmet.
Micah Parsons is trying to make that a reality.
FanDuel tweeted a photoshopped image of Beckham in a Cowboys jersey. Parsons quote tweeted the post and lobbied for Beckham to come to Dallas.
“Man, OBJ talk to me!” Parsons said in a tweet. “Let’s do this.”
Beckham’s response?
“U kno all the fam on my daddy side down there,” he said in a tweet. “Im just tryna win… whereeever I go.”
Former Cowboys star receiver Dez Bryant also took to Twitter to try and convince Beckham to come to Dallas.
“It’s a real vibe down here,” Bryant said. “Dallas TX stand up!”
Parsons and Bryant’s comments come a day after Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy openly complimented Beckham.
“All the guys from the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns, all the guys have nothing but great things to say about him,” McCarthy said. “I have always been so impressed with his football-playing ability. I have heard so many excellent things about him over the years. I think those are conversations for the future. Right now, we are focused on our guys.”
Beckham has been linked to the Cowboys since they failed to trade for a wide receiver before last week’s NFL trade deadline. The Cowboys have been in need of receiving depth behind CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup after trading away Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns during the offseason.
The free agent receiver is fresh off winning a Super Bowl with the Rams last season. He had two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown in the championship game before suffering an ACL tear.
In eight NFL seasons, Beckham has 7,367 yards and 56 touchdowns for his career.
“We know that we should be aware that he’s coming off this injury. But he showed [his ability to return from injury] and do it well last year,” Jones said. “So, that would go in the mix real good, his past … dealing with adversity, if you will, injury rehab. I think that tells you a lot.”
