The 2025 SAG Awards kicked off on Sunday, February 23, gathering members of the Screen Actors Guild to celebrate the best performances in TV and film from the past year. Kieran Culkin had a memorable night, winning the first award of the evening. The event was held at the Shrine Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles, featuring a strong lineup of nominees across 15 categories, including many well-known and acclaimed actors.
In the film section, stars from Wicked, Emilia Pérez, A Complete Unknown, and Anora were nominated for top honors, competing with Conclave for the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture award. On the TV side, hit shows like Shogun, The Bear, The Diplomat, and Baby Reindeer received a lot of nominations.
Legendary actress Jane Fonda was honoured with this year’s Life Achievement Award, the highest award from SAG-AFTRA. After 65 years in the industry and earning two Oscars, eight Golden Globes, and an Emmy, the 87-year-old believes that her dedication to making a difference through her work is more important than any award.
