Ed Kelce reveals Travis proposed to Taylor Swift two weeks earlier in a private garden at his Missouri home.
Of course, I had to check out her post with five different photos of them in a garden. I quipped to my wife that the photos looked like they took place after the fact which I just found out was the case since Ed Kelce, Travis’ father, told News 5 Cleveland’s John Kosich, that the couple got engaged almost 2 weeks ago. The senior Kelce gives the world in-depth look at Travis and Taylor’s engagement.
According to Ed Kelce, Travis didn’t pop the question yesterday. “Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago.”

Ed continued with “He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.” Ed said Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, was telling Travis the same thing.
The proposal supposedly took place in a garden at Travis’ home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’ … they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,”
Ed said: “They started FaceTiming all their loved ones and when he got the call while he was at a Philadelphia Eagles practice he knew the two were engaged. “I was at … an Eagles practice, a public practice that they had a lot of people that, well, the Eagles had 60,000 people at a public practice two weeks ago on a Sunday night.”
Ed divulged he knew about his son’s plan to propose for months; he even expected him to do it during last year’s NFL season.
He finished the interview by saying he and Travis’ mother went to KC for dinner at Travis’s house where Taylor made them dinner and he has not seen his son happier than he is with Swift.
