Britain's Got Talent finalist Olly Pearson reveals school's huge surprise for him

11 year old guitarist Olly Pearson has recently made Britain’s Got Talent history, scoring himself the golden buzzer for the second time on the TV show.

The young guitarist auditioned for the talent show back in March, where he performed a medley of AC/DC, Van Halen and Queen and earned himself the golden buzzer – meaning he bypassed straight through to the semi-finals.

For his performance at the live semi-finals on Friday night, Olly nailed his performance once again – this time, with a medley including AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, GnR’s Sweet Child o’ Mine, and Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer.

Just like his audition, the kid showed a bunch of talent while ripping his guitar and strutting around the stage. Plus this time, his performance was elevated (literally) with a rising platform and sparks shooting out the end of his guitar.

Once his performance was over, judge Simon Cowell wasted no time and hit the golden buzzer straight away, making this the first time in Britain’s Got Talent’s history where a contestant has got the golden ticket twice in one season.

Asked why he pressed the golden buzzer, Simon Cowell said, “he was bloody brilliant, seriously, and he’s so small and talented, and carries magic… It was brilliant, you’re so talented, really.”

Pressing the buzzer before judges even give their thoughts isn’t usual protocol – and Olly was clearly stoked.

Tearing up, he told the judges, “that was the coolest thing in my life.”

Amanda Holden, the judge who pressed the golden buzzer at Olly’s audition, asked him if his grandad – who taught him how to play guitar – was at the show, to which Olly pointed him out in the crowd.

“Yeah he’s just over there,” Olly said, before the camera cuts to the proud grandad standing up while the crowd erupted with applause.

We’re stoked for the talented young lad – he’s got a bright future ahead of him.

Thirty musicians and singers recently gathered in the streets of Paris for a flashmob performance of Queen’s iconic song “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

A video of the flashmob was posted on the YouTube channel of one of the performers, pianist Julien Cohen, on Tuesday (September 9th), and the clip has since gone viral, surpassing over 500,000 views in just one day.

The flashmob took place in a particularly busy intersection for foot traffic. With the presence of a drum kit, speakers, and a piano, onlookers might have been anticipating some kind of busker performance; unbeknownst to them, they were about to witness an epic public orchestration of the Queen classic.

Cohen appears to guide the performance from the piano, but it’s young UK guitar prodigy Olly Pearson who steals the show, shredding through Brian May’s guitar flourishes and solos. Elsewhere, singers are placed in the windows of apartments surrounding the street, providing the song’s iconic operatic vocals and call-and-response sections.

Overall, the production of the video and choreography of the flashmob is mighty impressive, and everything appears to go off without a hitch.
