Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has declared her love for one of her castmates as fans eagerly await her return to the cobbles.
While the actress has been back filming for weeks, she is yet to be seen on-screen as she reprises the role of Eva Price in the ITV soap.
It’s been seven years since the Cath and her Weatherfield alter-ego were last seen on the famous cobbles, with her having first taken on the role from 2011 to 2018.
But after it had been heavily rumoured that she would be making a comeback after the Rovers Return was left without a landlady, it was confirmed last month that Eva would be heading back to the Street to run the beloved pub – and she won’t be alone.
Cath will be joined by two exciting new additions to the cast – acclaimed actors Aaron McCusker and Pauline McLynn, who play Eva’s partner Ben Driscoll and his interfering mother, Maggie.
Corrie fans will recognise Pauline as Mrs Doyle in Father Ted and Libby Croker in Shameless. She also appeared in Eastenders as Yvonne Cotton in 2014. Meanwhile, Aaron is best known for playing Jamie McGuire in Shameless, he also starred as Jim Hutton, Freddie Mercury’s boyfriend, in the 2018 feature film Bohemian Rhapsody.
While many details about what brings Eva back, other than the Rovers, and who her new family is under wraps, Cath has been sharing little snippets from filming with her social media followers.
In her latest post, the soap star shared a number of snaps which she siad was taken during a “busy busy week”. While photos included one from her dressing room in one of Eva’s many elaborate outfits, spending time with her family, and working on other projects, there was one in particular that caught fans’ attention.
She was seen smiling for the camera alongside Jodie Prenger, who plays Corrie’s Glenda Shuttleworth, who is the current manager of the Rovers. They could be seen in the beloved boozer, seemingly during a celebration.
Alongside her post, Cath wrote: “Busy busy week! The good stuff.” Mentioning the snap of herself and Jodie, she declared: “It’s #GLEVA [crying laughing faces and pink heart emojis]. God I love that woman.”
For some of the other photos, as well as a video of her with her new blonde tresses in the hairdressers, she said: “‘Creating Eva’ round two! Big Thank you to the brilliant @spectrumonehairextensions !! (Gifted) thanks for helping us create the look we needed for this diva alongside our incredible head of Hair & Make Up @gillywalshy. We are so thrilled! Gorgeous hair and the perfect colour match!”
