Margot Robbie looks downcast as she leaves Queensland with her husband Tom Ackerley after a fleeting trip to see family and friends on the Gold Coast

Margot Robbie didn’t look happy to be leaving her family and friends as she jetted out of Brisbane Airport on Sunday afternoon.

The Barbie star, 33, made a fleeting visit to the Gold Coast this week alongside her husband Tom Ackerley to be with her nearest and dearest.

Margot, who makes no secret of her love of Australia, could barely crack a smile as she pulled her luggage out of a black Mercedes van.

The blonde bombshell held a large pillow as she made her way though the terminal alongside Tom, whose hand she held.

Margot covered her famous figure in a comfortable all-black ensemble, including a skimpy top, flowing pants, and sandals.

At times, she went incognito in a black Chanel bucket hat and surgical face mask.

Husband Tom looked hunky in a white jumper, black pants and a pair of white New Balance runners for the occasion.

Just a day earlier, Margot was seen beaming alongside a group of friends at Mr Percival’s in Brisbane.

Speaking to Nine’s Today Show in January, Margot said she especially loves that Aussies correctly pronounce her name, something Americans rarely do.

‘It’s nice to be home and see the reaction,’ she said.

‘You know, you have the premiere and people scream out your name.

‘I just love hearing my name with an Aussie accent too because in America everyone hits the R. They got ‘Marr-go’ not ‘Ma-go’.’

Margot added she likes to keep up-to-date with all things Australian.

‘It’s just so special to be home and I always care most about Australia things and what my friends and family are doing and I like talk about Australia all the time to everyone I work with,’ she added.

The visit home comes after Margot landed herself in hot water with her Halloween costume this year.

The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (SAG-AFTRA) advised not to post photos of costumes from struck content.

Margot ignored protocol and dressed up as vigilante V from the cult film V For Vendetta as she attended the Casamigos Halloween party in Los Angeles.
