ERLING HAALAND was unimpressed after being asked for his shirt at half-time.
The Norwegian was confronted by defender Mohamed Ali Camara as he came off the ground at Etihad Stadium with Manchester City leading Young Boys 2-0.
As they reached the tunnel with cameras monitoring their every move, the 26-year-old Young Boys captain requested Haaland for his shirt.
Haaland was heard saying, “You can’t do this,” but when Camara persisted, the 23-year-old handed him his shirt.
Camara then patted Haaland on the back as they walked to the locker room.
The move split fans, who took to X, formerly known as Twiter, to discuss the event.
“Ridiculous!!!” said one fan. Yes, at the end of the game, but at halftime?”
Another concurred, saying, “A player should be focused on the match and not on that if you ask me.”
In comparison, one person said, “Why not, if I was in Young Boys, I would too.”
While a fourth stated, “There is no time to waste.” Take advantage of every opportunity.”
In the second half, Haaland scored his second goal of the night in the 51st minute, defeating an extended Anthony Racioppi in the Young Boys goal.
He was quickly pulled along with Kyle Walker in the 61st minute, with the game apparently clinched at 3-0.
Oscar Bobb of Norway and Kalvin Phillips of England were brought in to replace the duo.
City went on to win the game 3-0, securing a place in the Champions League Round of 16 after winning all four of their group games.
Chelsea, who play the Cityzens at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, will be the next club to have the opportunity to swap shirts with Haaland.
Pep Guardiola’s team will try to seize the opportunity to go ahead of second-placed Tottenham, who suffered injuries to Micky van de Ven and James Maddison in Monday’s 4-1 loss to Chelsea.
Spurs will also be without Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie, both of whom were sent – during the frantic contest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
