Kim Kardashian and Ivanka Trump seem like an unlikely pairing at first glance, but the two have a friendship that spans almost a decade.

“Kim and Ivanka have been friends for years and have hung out on a number of occasions,” a source told  Us Weekly.

The socialites bumped into each other at the Met Gala in 2014 and were said to have bonded over “motherhood and being new moms,” and continued to connect over the years.

The two most recently shocked fans over Kim’s birthday weekend when Ivanka was spotted amongst the reality star’s close circle of friends.

However, Eric Schiffer, CEO of Reputation Management Consultants, told The U.S. Sun that Ivanka might lean on this friendship more amidst her father, former president Donald Trump’s legal battles.

“Ivanka’s friendship with Kim Kardashian can help soften her and create a perception in people’s minds that she matters,” he said.

“It’s important and it’s a cool factor because she wouldn’t be there if not.”

PRESIDENTIAL MEETUP

When Kim first met with President Donald Trump in May 2018, many people didn’t realize that Ivanka helped orchestrate it.

Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner revealed in his memoir, Breaking History, that Kim asked the former Apprentice star to meet her father.

Kim and the former president had a discussion regarding prison reform as Kim advocated for a life sentence for Alice Marie Johnson, a nonviolent drug offender, to be commuted.

After the historic meeting, Kim had dinner at the then-first daughter’s house.

DYNAMIC DUO

In September 2018, the two best friends teamed up again during a listening session on clemency and prison reform, which was spearheaded by Ivanka and her husband.

After a fruitful evening, Kim and Ivanka took a photo together with Kushner and commentators Van Jones and Leonard Leo of the Federalist Society.

“Great working session today at the White House on ways to improve the clemency process with policy leaders and criminal justice reform advocates,” Ivanka wrote alongside the photo on X (formerly known as Twitter) which Kim retweeted.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The following year in June 2019, Ivanka was right by Kim’s side as she announced her partnership with Lyft, as part of her latest criminal justice reform agenda.

The Skims mogul planned to work with the ride-share company to give gift cards to reformed criminals, so they would be able to have transportation to job interviews.

“Everyone wants the community to be safe,” Kim said at the White House.

“And the more opportunities we have, and that they have, and the support that we help give them, the safer everyone will be.”

During her visit, Kim posed for a photo with Ivanka and her husband as they listened to the former president give a speech on second-chance hiring and criminal justice reform.

GIRL DINNER

In October 2022, the duo met for a private dinner at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

Kim was spotted wearing a black dress with a leather jacket, while Ivanka sported a tan trench coat.

The two planned their dinner together shortly after the reality star’s ex-husband, Kanye West, went on an anti-Semitic rant on X.

While exactly what was said during the dinner wasn’t made public, the pair spent three hours at the Polo Lounge catching up.

BIRTHDAY BASH

The two made major headlines last month when Ivanka was spotted at Kim’s birthday party.

The pair was all smiles while they were photographed together and they both shared the picture on social media.

“So blessed to have hit the jackpot of friends! I couldn’t have ever dreamed I would be so lucky to call these girls my friends” Kim wrote while posing with Ivanka.

The mother of three re-shared the photos, adding: “Loved celebrating you! HBD Kim.”

Ivanka shared a photo of herself laughing while holding a cutout of Kim’s face to her Instagram story.

“Enjoying some FaceTime on your special day @kimkardashian,” she wrote.
