Ever wondered about levitation? It seems like a superpower, doesn’t it? While the debate continues about whether this phenomenon is genuine or simply a product of clever editing, the internet is flooded with countless images of objects seemingly defying gravity. And quite recently, a screenshot taken from a videotape left the homeowner in a state of shock as they witnessed their dog seemingly levitating. Continue scrolling to uncover the entire story!
Lilica is a clever dog who resides with her two moms and two other canine companions in Guarulhos, São Paulo, Brazil. Bruna Gutemberg, Lilica’s owner, shared with us some background information about her: “She is 9 years and 7 months old. She has been with my wife since 2014 and with me since the end of 2019, when we got married.”
The family surely loves this adorable four-legged friend, and in order to keep an eye on her, Bruna and her wife installed a camera in their house for daily checking. And never could they imagine that this would lead to the discovery of an amusing situation.
“We always leave a camera at home because we have three dogs, and they sleep inside the house. During the day, they stay in the covered backyard and a bit inside the house. So we keep an eye on them.”
On the afternoon of September 21st, while checking for the home’s camera just as usual, Bruna Gutemberg noticed something quite unusual.
“On Thursday, September 21st, I went to check if they were okay. When I opened the camera, I was startled. This was her initial thought upon seeing the image: “I was in shock. I thought to myself, ‘What is this dog doing?’”
In the footage, the family dog appeared to be levitating! And certainly, witnessing something that tricks your mind into believing your dog is casually levitating must have been quite a shock for Bruna Gutemberg.
“I stared at it for a while, thinking, ‘Is she flying?’ Then I decided to zoom in and saw that it was the shadow of the clothes.” She was totally taken aback at first but soon realized that a shadow cast by hanging clothes had positioned itself perfectly, creating an optical illusion.
Bruna later decided to share the image on Kralho’s Arrombadinhos FOFOS Facebook group. And since Bruna frequently shared pictures of her dog on this group, she thought that fellow group members might also find this picture interesting.
Bruna also explained how the image made its way online: “I posted it on Kralho’s Arrombadinhos FOFOS Facebook group. I often share dog-related things there. Then the group administrators posted it on their Instagram page.”
The response to the image was overwhelming, both in terms of likes and comments, which again surprised Bruna. It can be said that although the image was nothing more than an optical illusion, it certainly stirred up surprise and wonder among those who came across it.
