At the recent CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City, Anne Hathaway paid homage to pop princess Britney Spears in a striking denim-on-denim Ralph Lauren ensemble, grabbing attention. However, it wasn’t her only show-stopping look of the night. Hathaway, who played the dual roles of the event’s host and a guest celebrating American design, also graced the occasion in a captivating red gown from Rodarte’s Spring-Summer 2018 collection.
The red gown, characterized by a wrap silhouette, showcased sheer red lace, revealing coordinating red underpinnings. Adorned with black floral embellishments on the shoulders and bodice, the floral motif continued down the skirt, concluding with a tiered, ruffly hem. Unlike the runway presentation featuring baby’s breath and arm cuffs, Hathaway opted for a minimalist approach to accessories, adding touches of Bulgari jewelry while forgoing fresh flowers.
For her second dress, Hathaway changed her hairstyle, pulling her chocolate brown hair into a quick updo to highlight her drop earrings. The actress took on the hosting role as a last-minute replacement for Sarah Jessica Parker, who had to withdraw from the duties due to unforeseen circumstances.
In the upcoming film “Eileen,” slated for release on December 1 in New York and Los Angeles, and nationwide on December 8, Hathaway portrays the character Rebecca. The film, set in 1960s Massachusetts during a harsh winter, follows the story of Rebecca and Thomasin McKenzie’s Eileen, employees at a prison whose unusual friendship takes a sinister turn when a dark secret is revealed, propelling Eileen onto a chilling path, according to People.
