Mohamed Salah reaches the landmark of 200 goals in English football

Mohamed Salah reached the landmark of 200 goals in English football after netting twice in Liverpool‘s 3-0 win over Brentford.

The Egyptian star put the Reds in command of Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash at Anfield which sent them level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table.

With 198 goals for Liverpool and two for former club Chelsea, the 31-year-old has reached the landmark of 200 strikes for English clubs.

Salah also continued an extraordinary run of goal contributions at Anfield. He has found the net in 14 of his last 15 league outings there, scoring 17 goals overall, including all six this season.

In addition, he joined ex-Arsenal forward Thierry Henry and Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer in either scoring or assisting in 15 consecutive Premier League home games.

As a result, Salah has the most combined goals and assists in the English top-flight this season with 14.

Diogo Jota scored Liverpool’s third goal to round off a comfortable afternoon against the Bees, moving them level on 27 points with City at least until their match with Chelsea later on Sunday.

Salah opened the scoring after 39 minutes, firing into the bottom left corner after Darwin Nunez laid the ball off to him following a ball recovery by Joel Matip.

His second came just after the hour mark with a straightforward finish after Kostas Tsimikas stretched to keep the ball in play and cross to the back stick.

Salah scored twice for Chelsea in 19 appearances during the early part of his career before moving to Roma in 2016.

But he spent just one season there before Liverpool brought him back to the Premier League, with Salah becoming one of the most reliable goalscorers in English football.

He netted an astonishing 44 times in all competitions during his debut campaign and has scored at least 30 times in three seasons since then.
