Jennifer Lawrence is just like the rest of us — she repeats outfits, even for special events. On Monday, Lawrence’s friend and collaborator Amy Schumer got married in a secret ceremony to chef Chris Fischer. Naturally, Lawrence was in attendance and by Schumer‘s side. Schumer shared some day-of photos on Instagram, including one of Lawrence giving her a kiss on her temple.
Standing next to the bride, the Red Sparrow star wore a pink Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini Spring 2018 dress, the same one she donned for The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment breakfast on Dec. 6, 2017. Lawrence was honored at the annual breakfast with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award as the youngest person to receive the honor for her philanthropy and leadership. “It’s not easy to speak out. It’s not easy to face criticism on a global scale. But the fact is I have been given a platform, and if I don’t use it, then I don’t deserve it,” the actress said at the event at Milk Studios in Los Angeles. “Let’s be outspoken, let’s be resilient.”
Turns out the same light pink dress was perfectly suited for Schumer’s Malibu wedding this week, albeit with a few more buttons popped open in the front. Lawrence added a black choker this time, but wore her hair up for both events. Schumer — herself in a Chantilly lace and tulle gown from Monique Lhuillier — used flower crowns and black puppies to set the mood of her sunset ceremony. The pair became friends after Lawrence saw Schumer’s movie Trainwreck and emailed Schumer to gush; they’ve since vacationed in Martha’s Vineyard and wrote a screenplay together. And as for Lawrence’s repeated outfit, we can’t say we blame her for wearing the same dress to two events, because it truly looks gorgeous on her.
