Taylor Swift has announced two extra dates for the UK leg of her Eras tour and will now play eight shows at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The songstress, 33, made the announcement via her management team Taylor Nation declaring: ‘God, we love the English’ in a reference to her 2019 hit London Boy.
Taylor was already set to play the 90,000 seat stadium for two separate stints 21-23 of June and 15-17 August 2024, before adding the extra shows on the 19th and 20th of August – however tickets will only be available for those already registered.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, her team wrote: ‘God we love the English’.
‘TS The Eras Tour just added TWO new London shows in August 2024. A limited number of fans who previously registered for shows in London will be selected for access to the sale and receive notifications via email starting today’.
Taylor is fond of dropping a cryptic clue in her work for fans to follow and after her latest Instagram post on Monday, the Swifties think they have spied a Travis Kelce reference.
The singer has just finished three dates in Buenos Aires as she resumed her Eras Tour this weekend in Argentina and wrote on Instagram on Monday: Starting off the South American leg of The Eras Tour in Argentina = best decision possible.
‘I can’t even express my gratitude to the Buenos Aires crowds. I’d never been to Argentina before and they gave us the most electric, magical memories.’
And it’s the use of ‘electric’ that caught the eye of her diligent fanbase.
Kelce, who was at her Saturday night show, often uses the word ‘electric’ to describe a good time – most recently when talking about his appearance on Saturday Night Live alongside Swift.
‘I don’t even remember what I said, I blacked out,’ Kelce said on his New Heights podcast. ‘It was electric to be back at that place. There is just something about being back in that room and being their first episode of the season.’
And when Travis was talking about Taylor’s first appearance at Arrowhead Stadium to see him play for the Chiefs, he said: ‘I just thought it was awesome that everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her.
‘She looked amazing and on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans. It was absolutely electric.’
In another more football-related example, on a different New Heights episode Kelce was talking about the ability and potential of Deion Sanders’ football-playing sons Shilo and Sheduer.
‘Both [of] Deion Sanders’ sons are absolutely electric,’ Kelce said back in September. ‘One of his sons had a pick-six – the other one had just an outstanding game.’
So perhaps the Swifties are onto something. Plenty of them had their say in the comments under her post.
‘Electric you say? Pretty sure that’s one of Travis’s fav words to use he says it at least once a podcast.. she seems to be already adopting some of his lingo,’ one fan wrote on X.
Another said: ”MOST ELECTRIC’ Travis influence – I have to laugh.’
Travis flew back to the United States on Sunday and is now preparing for his next Chiefs game on Monday, November 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles — the team his older brother Jason plays for.
Before then, a fresh episode of his New Heights podcast will drop on Wednesday morning with his Jason where they will discuss their travels during their week off.
