Jennifer Lawrence had a night of triumph at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards on Thursday, clinching the title of Best Actress in two distinct categories for her exceptional performances. The 22-year-old secured the Best Actress in an Action Movie for her role in The Hunger Games and also took home the Best Actress in a Comedy for Silver Linings Playbook.
Playfully acknowledging the physical exertion for The Hunger Games, she humorously remarked that ‘all the sweat was worth it.’ However, her tone shifted to sincerity as she delivered a heartfelt speech about her experience working on Silver Linings Playbook, expressing how ‘movies changed my life.’
Addressing co-star Bradley Cooper, she shared, ‘The first time we did a scene together, you took my breath away, and the first time I watched the movie, you broke my heart and put it back together again.’
The success of Silver Linings Playbook was evident as the entire cast and crew celebrated their four awards at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. Bradley Cooper also claimed the title of Best Actor in a Comedy, showering praise on Jennifer Lawrence in his acceptance speech. The film not only secured Best Acting Ensemble but was also honored as the Best Comedy of the night.
