At the age of 43, Venus Williams is still very persistent and does not know when she will hang up her racket like her younger sister Serena.
Venus Williams turned 43 in June this year and at this age, many tennis players have even retired for nearly a decade, some have moved on to coach the next generation. However, the former Wimbledon champion still competed and just had a victory over a top 20 player in the world, Veronika Kudermetova, in round 1 of the Cincinnati Open tennis tournament. She felt very comfortable.
“I feel very satisfied, playing tennis as long as possible. The time on the field was wonderful, I felt that atmosphere, the cheers of the audience or the joy of winning points. Everything is like the first days I learned about this sport” – Venus Williams shares.
At the age of 43, Venus Williams can only participate in major tournaments with a wild card and usually does not advance too far. However, her desire to play tennis is truly admirable and sets an example for the next generations.
