Mihawk is a better Swordsman than Shanks but does that mean he is stronger than him?
One Piece is by far one of the biggest anime/manga series to be ever created with a fandom that goes as long as its origin. With hundreds of characters and still new characters being introduced each day, new are theories being talked about on the internet and fans love to debate on the topics.
One of the famous debates among the One Piece fandom is measuring the power scales of the character who is stronger than whom. While there is a huge debate if Admirals are stronger than Yonko or not, one of the debates for a long time has been about who is stronger among Shanks and Mihawk.
These two characters of the series are the chilled ones who are not known for making reckless decisions and messes but are very famous among the fandom due to their potential and power that does not match up in the entirety of the One Piece series.
Mihawk is known to be the World’s Greatest Swordsman while the Shanks are mysterious and have power that has still not been measured up. Before Shakns lost one of his arms, the two used to have a duel just for the sake of it and were also called rivals among the vast sea but there was never a conclusion about who was stronger.
Well, we may have speculations that might finally end this debate for good. With that being said, buckle up for speculation in one of many questions posed by the One Piece manga series.
Who Is Stronger Shanks Or Mihawk?
This pondering question by the fans has never been answered by Oda but he may have left some clues to determine this answer for good. While Mihwak is indeed a better swordsman than Shanks, it has never been said the that latter would ever lose to him if they were to fight now.
In fact, we like to think that it might be the opposite of it. If Shanks and Mihwak were to fight now, the former might win the fight thanks to his conqueror’s haki and his abilities which we got to see against Captain Kid.
Fans have seen Mihawk in a fight many times with his involvement in the East Blue with Zoro and his responsibilities as the Warlord of the Seas in the Marineford Arc. Whereas, Shanks has been seen fighting for less time than any of the characters but whenever he did fight, the fights ended in an instant.
The difference between them may be very small in regards to bounties or everything, but the difference is there and mysterious Shanks might actually be stronger. Why do I think that? Well, here are some more traces left by Oda.
Shanks Has Grown To Be Stronger Even After He Has Lost His One Arm
One might think that after losing an arm, the person might get weaker due to losing one of the much-needed body parts. But Shanks has grown to be stronger and even got the title of the Yonko even after losing an arm.
In his recent action sequence in One Piece Film: RED which was not canon, we see that Shanks’ presence made likes of Admirals, Kizaru concerned after seeing the red-haired pirate getting serious. His mere Haki has given him advantages and Vice Admirals to put to sleep.
Whereas, in the recent canon development, Shanks Haki’s from afar made Ryokyugu retreat from Wano when he was passing by. But the only time we saw him in real action was when Shanks destroyed the Kid Pirates in a single blow.
In conclusion, the obvious way to know who is stronger among Mihawk or Shanks would be getting the two into a fight but we don’t suppose that might happen ever happen. However, over time the traces tell us that Shanks might indeed be stronger than Mihawk even if the difference might not be that big.
Fans have tried to prove that Shanks might be a fraud but each new theory gets disproven with new Shanks’ info in the series. We are in the endgame of the series and the answers to our questions about them might be getting revealed soon.
