Formula 1 Marvel: Max Verstappen has how many F1 Grand Slams?

Max Verstappen has won three Grand Slams in three consecutive years–one in 2021, one in 2022, and the most recent one in 2023.

Max Verstappen‘s dominance in Formula 1 has taken a new face ever since he managed to usurp Lewis Hamilton from his place as the undisputed F1 Champion in 2021. Before Max dared to go up against Lewis, the Briton has enjoyed a formidable streak of four back-to-back F1 season victories from 2016. But the ’21 Abu Dhabi GP will always remain as the day F1 got a new idol in Max Verstappen as the Dutchman won his first ever Formula 1 World Championship.

From then, Max Verstappen has maintained his position at the top of the rankings. He has won so many Grands Prix that his nearest competitors in the Championship Standings have been left 200 to 300 points behind him. For such a talent, it is no surprise that Max has scored quite a few Grand Slams already in his F1 career. The 26-year-old has won 3 of the coveted Grand Slams. His numbers are thus the same as motorsports legend Nelson Piquet, who is the father of Max’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet.

Max Verstappen’s most recent Grand Slam win came at the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix. Even though his fellow rival from Ferrari, Carlos Sainz, as well as Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso had entered their home race weekend with hopes of making it big in front of their countrymen, Max silenced them both. He won the pole position during Saturday’s Qualifying, and then he went on to lead every single lap at the Main Race and when he finally cross the finish line in the first position, it was revealed that the Dutchman has also recorded the fastest lap of the race.

What are the 3 F1 races where Max Verstappen has gotten his Grand Slams?

Max Verstappen has gotten 3 Grand Slam wins in his F1 career ever since his debut in 2017. The Dutchman got the title for the first time at the 2021 Austrian GP at his team’s home race. He asserted his dominance over the immensely competitive Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton’s and managed to beat the 7-time World Champion at every step during the weekend in Red Bull Ring.

Max Verstappen’s second Grand Slam victory came in 2022 at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. He silenced the thousands of Tifosis in Ferrari’s home ground by beating their favorite racers and winning the pole position at Qualifying as well as the first place at the Main Race.
