They are two of Hollywood’s most sought after actresses.
And on Monday night Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain made sure to dazzle in glamorous gowns featuring a bit of sparkle at the New York premiere for Interstellar.
Anne, 31, sported a frilly semi-sheer frock with both glittering and floral accents at Chastain, 37, opted for a classic black dress bejewelled panels.
Ms Chastain, meanwhile, pulled her fiery red hair back into a ponytail as she sported dark eye make-up.
Also at the premiere was Matthew McConaughey, who arrived with his gorgeous wife Camila Alves.

Off the shoulder smoulder: The pair of stars displayed their modelling skills
Phasers set to stun: The actress wowed in her elegant gown
Flawless: The two leading ladies pulled out all the stops with their glamorous numbers
Anne plays Dr Amelia Brand in the movie directed by Christopher Nolan, which deals with astronauts who travel through a wormhole.
She stars alongside McConaughey, Chastain and Michael Caine in the highly anticipated filme but said it hasn’t all been plain sailing making the movie.
‘I had to work out to wear that heavy space suit!’ Anne said at a press conference ahead of the premiere.
A beauty: Ms Chastain pulled her fiery red hair back into a ponytail as she sported dark eye make-up
Standing tall: The red-haired stunner teamed her embellished gown with an envy-inducing pair of black heels
Her role: Anne plays Dr Amelia Brand in the movie directed by Christopher Nolan, which deals with astronauts who travel through a wormhole
Getting some love: The actress received a tender kiss from husband Adam Shulman
‘I thought because I didn’t have to wear a catsuit this time I was okay but I still needed to go to the gym just to wear that heavy suit!’
The actress had to wear the cumbersome get-up for most of the movie in which she and a team of astronauts travelled through space and across time in order to find a sustainable habitat for the human species to call their new home.
Some of the filming took place in Iceland on glaciers and Matthew McConaughey – who plays pilot and father Cooper – said those suits were great to keep warm in, but unlike for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, he was more concerned this time about eating well than keeping fit.
The catering was great there,’ McConaughey said. ‘After Dallas there was only one way to go and that was up into space and with the weight!’
The Oscar-winning actor also appreciated having his family – wife Camila and their three children – with him throughout the filming of the movie, and it helped him play a father on-screen.
‘I was lucky to have my family with me,’ Matthew said.
‘I’m pretty sure the greatest thing that prepared for the set was saying goodbye to my kids in the morning and then seeing them at the end of the day’.
Chastain had nothing but praise for her co-star Anne, who has often had a polarising effect on public opinion following her Oscar win for Best Supporting Actress in 2013.
Chastain stuck up for Hathaway when asked whether she was difficult to work with.
‘Anne Hathaway is so nice and anyone who says things like that are bullies and mean and jerks,’ the actress said. ‘She’s so nice, she’s so talented, intelligent, generous, a beautiful person and I hope to work with her again.’
Sir Michael Caine said: ‘I’m an avid gardener so I see a lot of wormholes and thought that’s what it meant,’ he said.
‘I didn’t understand this movie but then I met Kip Thorne, and that’s who I was playing, and now I know a lot about wormholes, so I’ve seen the movie and I know what’s on the other side… special effects.’
Interstellar hits theatres in the US on November 5.
