David de Gea has shared yet another cryptic message following Manchester United’s defeat against Newcastle on Saturday.
The Red Devils’ poor season continued as they suffered their sixth defeat of the campaign in the Premier League, a performance that received widespread criticism from pundits.
TNT Sports’s Jermaine Jenas said that some of the players’ body language suggested they ‘either weren’t happy with the tactics that was put to them or wasn’t happy with their positions on the pitch’ as manager Erik ten Hag grew visibly frustrated on the sidelines.
United remain seventh in the league table but could be overtaken by Brighton when the Seagulls take on Chelsea on Sunday.
Following the loss, former United goalkeeper De Gea shared an ‘ice cold’ emoji on his X account, with fans speculating the post related to yet another poor United performance since his departure.

There have been several question marks over his replacement, Andre Onana, this season
De Gea left the club at the end of last season after failing to agree terms on a new deal after nearly 12 years and 550 appearances for the club.
He has been a free agent ever since, and there have even been suggestions that he could re-join as questions remain over Andre Onana in goal.
The 33-year-old has history in sharing cryptic messages, often doing so when his future was unclear last year despite remaining a United player.
When he was first linked with a return to Old Trafford in October, the Spaniard shared a thinking emoji on his X account, which has been a notable pattern.
In June, he shared a yawning emoji as it became clearer he was heading for the exit at the club, and in July he posted a juggler in another episode in his series of single-emoji posts on X.
United have struggled significantly since De Gea’s departure and seem to have gone downhill both on and off the field in the last few months.
In goal, Onana arrived for £47.2million to replace De Gea due to his strong ability with the ball at his feet, which has been seen in games but his errors leading to goals have been notable.
Most recently, he conceded two sloppy goals to Galatasaray in the Champions League as United’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages all but ended following a 3-3 draw in Turkey.
Though it seems unlikely, it is not impossible De Gea could return to United as they look for cover with the African Cup of Nations approaching, in which Onana will play for Cameroon.
