‘Tis the season for Lizzo to drop into promo mode on her Instagram page ahead of the holidays.
On Thursday, the three-time Grammy Award-winning musician slipped into a sparkling bodysuit from her Yitty brand for a couple of photos she shared on her social media platform.
It turns out the two pictures and an adjoining video were only just a tease for a new release the following day.
‘New @yitty drop tomorrow’ the Good As Hell star, 35, promised in the caption.
In the two images, Lizzo (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) can be seen posing next to her decorated Christmas tree.
The tree, complete with ornaments, lights and a star on top, is situated near a back window.
With her hands resting on her waist, the singer, rapper and classically trained flutist posed with her locks styled in waves.
A second Instagram photo showed her standing in the same spot, just feet from her Christmas tree, only this time she’s seen pulling up the Yitty bodysuit.
It’s likely that tomorrow’s drop will be some sort of holiday sale, considering her Yitty websites are full of discount items ahead of Christmas and Hanukkah.
Lizzo launched her brand in partnership with Fabletics in April 2022, after she had spoken of her own painful experience growing up wearing uncomfortable shapewear.
She let it be known that she came into the business endeavor with a goal of helping women of all body types ‘feel unapologetically good about themselves,’ as reported by CNN.
‘I’ve watched countless videos of people crafting their own garments to wrap or tuck their bodies so their body can truly feel like theirs,’ Lizzo wrote in an Instagram post, when explaining her inspiration for Yitty.
‘I’ve heard people talk about their presence of wanting to be fluid in how they want to present their bodies depending on their mood or style of clothing. And I wanted to help.’
Over the brand’s year-and-a-half of existence, Lizzo has made it an open policy of Yitty’s goal of being all-inclusive to all kinds of body shapes and sizes.
‘Yitty believes in radical self-love for people of all gender identities — including the trans, non-binary, gender-fluid and gender non-conforming communities that have been chronically underserved,” the brand wrote in a press release.
‘It is Yitty’s mission to continue serving all bodies, which is why these core styles will always be available at Yitty.’
Persistance has been the name of Lizzo’s game when it comes to her musical career that began with the release of her debut album Lizzobangers (2013).
It would take until her third album, Cuz I Love You (2019), for her to breakout as a bonafide hitmaker, on the heels of the singles Juice and Tempo.
While Cuz I Love You landed at number four on the Billboard 200, her follow up, Special (2022), surpassed that success by peaking at number two on the same Billboard chart.
It was preceded by its lead single About Damn Time, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and made Lizzo the first black female singer since Whitney Houston in 1994 to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year.
