Henry Cavill fans might be distraught that he’ll no longer be playing Superman or The Witcher, but the actor has another exciting TV project on the horizon.

His new role will reportedly see him take on the fantasy world of Warhammer, having previously made no secret of how big a fan he is of the game franchise.
This week, the actor confirmed that he would be hanging up his cape as Clark Kent, despite teasing his return as the Man of Steel just two months ago after a cameo in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam movie.
‘After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life. The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that,’ the 39-year-old said in a statement.
In October, he also revealed that he would be stepping away from The Witcher after playing monster hunter Geralt of Rivia since 2020, with Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth set to take his place from season four.
‘My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords,’ he wrote at the time.

While many are despondent over Henry’s time as such iconic characters coming to an end, when one door closes, another opens.
It’s been reported that Amazon is in final talks to obtain the rights to the game Warhammer 40,000, which is produced by Games Workshop, in order to make a TV adaptation.
What’s more, Henry is said to be attached to not only star in the show, but also be an executive producer on the production, The Hollywood Reporter claimed.
It’s said that at the present time, there are no writers or showrunners attached to the Warhammer adaptation.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Henry corrected the host when he wrongly mixed up Warcraft with Warhammer.
When questioning the actor about his hobbies, Graham asked: ‘You paint World Of War Craft?’
‘Warhammer’, his guest responded, before explaining how it works.
‘You put them together in little armies and you fight against someone else’s army. It’s fun. It sounds ridiculous but it is fun,’ he shared.
During lockdown in April 2020, Henry opened up to his Instagram followers about ‘life long hobby’ he’d been partaking in, thanks to the fascinating lore created by Games Workshop over the years.
Sharing a picture of himself painting a miniature helmet, he wrote in the caption: ‘So, as you can see here, the obvious might look a little bit like a tiny helmet…which it is. One of my almost life long hobbies, that I’ve been following but not actively doing, is this.
‘A company called Games Workshop…or plastic crack as “we” call it. Genuinely can’t get enough of the lore they have built over the decades. They have been some of my most enthused reads!
‘If you were in denial about me being a geek before, you can’t hide from it now. Also, in the background of this photo, there may just be some completely new skills I’m working on…..or there may not be, so all of your eye squinting and attempts at digital unfocusing will be in vain….orrrr maybe they won’t.’
