Did Patrick Mahomes Quietly Step In To Honor Charlie Kirk’s Memory With A Heartfelt Donation To His Family? — A Touching Act Of Compassion That’s Leaving Fans In Tears And Sparking Emotional Tributes Across The Nation

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has made plenty of headlines in the past for his political commentary – or lack thereof. That being said, his name was brought up after Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was killed at Utah Valley University.

Kirk, 31, was shot in the neck while debating a student at his event on Wednesday afternoon. He was later pronounced dead at Timpanogos Regional Hospital. The authorities arrested the alleged shooter, 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson, on Friday morning.

Less than 48 hours after Kirk’s death was confirmed, Mahomes started trending on social media.

On Friday morning, a graphic stating that Mahomes will pay all educational expenses for Kirk’s children went viral on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. There was even this fake quote attached to it: “Rest in peace my friend. Let me take care of your children, America always opens its arms to patriots.”

There’s zero indication that Mahomes has vowed to pay all educational expenses for Kirk’s children. What we know for certain is that Kirk praised the Pro Bowl quarterback after he won Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

“Congrats to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. He’s a great quarterback and a true leader. Appreciate that he gave all glory to God,” Kirk wrote on X in February 2024.

We also know that Mahomes has kept his political affiliation to himself.

Leading up to the 2024 presidential election, Mahomes refused to endorse either candidate. He told reporters, “I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president. I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research.”

Another NFL star was mentioned in a similar story.

Before this fake story about Mahomes surfaced online, the same exact claim was made about Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

“Immediately after Charlie Kirk passed away, Minnesota Vikings superstar Justin Jefferson immediately stepped in, pledging to pay all living and educational expenses for Kirk’s two children,” the Facebook post read. “This action not only eased the burden on Kirk’s family during this time of grief, but also caused a stir on social media, as many people expressed their admiration for Justin Jefferson’s kindness in this tearful moment.”

This story about Jefferson is also fake. He hasn’t said anything about Kirk’s death as of this Friday.

We’re not sure why people feel the need to make up these stories about NFL stars. It’s incredibly unfair to all parties involved.
