Journalist Ben Jacobs has now claimed that Chelsea still hold an interest in making two signings at the last minute of this January transfer window.
He told the Simon Phillips’ Substack that there is still a chance the Blues add two forwards to their ranks by the time the month comes to an end.
It has been clear to everyone that a striker has been top of the list for what the club want to bring in.

Victor Osimhen has been mentioned as the number one target for many at Stamford Bridge, including manager Mauricio Pochettino.
However, he is only available when this season comes to an end, and many believe the problem needs addressing way before then.
Current options Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja seem to not be convincing anyone, with the latter apparently up for sale.
Chelsea could move for two strikers this month
The academy graduate is subject to interest from a number of Premier League sides, who could make a late move for him this week.
While that is going on, it seems the signing of a striker this month has not yet been ruled out. Jacobs has claimed there are a number of names being considered for two potential striker signings.
He said: “I also wouldn’t rule out an approach for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson just yet. And I am told two forwards may arrive: one established and one younger. Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is still another possibility.”
Ferguson has been a long-term target of the Blues, with him beginning to show what he can do on a more regular basis in the Premier League.
However, any move to bring him in from Brighton is reportedly going to cost them around £100m, which they would perhaps be better spent on a striker who has more experience at the top of the game such as Osimhen.
