There will be some more big decisions set to be made at the club in the summer, with some contracts running down and also, some new positions they will be looking to sign in.

One decision that the club could make is the sale of midfielder Conor Gallagher, but tabloid claims from The Daily Express this morning, citing Ben Jacobs as the source of their report, suggests that Pochettino is on a collision course with club chiefs as he fights to keep one of his key players, Gallagher, at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future.

Gallagher could yet be sold this summer given he has less than 18 months left on his contract, meaning he’d be eligible to leave for free in 2025. Pochettino evidently wants to keep him.

But according to football journalist Ben Jacobs, the Argentine boss may be overruled on the matter. Owner Todd Boehly plays an active role in the club’s transfer business, along with Behdad Eghbali, Paul Winstanley, Laurence Stewart and Joe Shields, with the quintet reportedly having a key say in possibly sanctioning a sale.
