Elon Musk’s Name Appears in Newly Released Jeffrey Epstein Files
The U.S. House Oversight Committee has released newly unsealed documents from the investigation into convicted 𝑠e𝑥 offender Jeffrey Epstein, revealing that tech billionaire Elon Musk’s name was listed in Epstein’s personal schedule.
On September 26, Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee published six pages of Epstein’s files out of a trove of 8,544 records handed over by Epstein’s estate managers. The documents, described as the financier’s “daily schedules,” contained several redactions, and the committee did not specify why certain passages were censored.
One 2014 entry contained a handwritten reminder: “Elon Musk to island Dec. 6 (still happening?).” At the time, Epstein owned the notorious private island of Little St. James in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The committee said the records also referenced meetings with conservative strategist Steve Bannon, tech investor Peter Thiel, and British royal Prince Andrew—who appeared as a listed passenger on Epstein’s private jet. “The Justice Department must release the Epstein files immediately,” the committee declared.
Musk Denies Visiting Epstein’s Island
Musk quickly responded on X, firmly denying that he had ever visited Epstein’s private island. He acknowledged meeting Epstein years ago at his New York townhouse but insisted he rejected all invitations to the island, calling Epstein “a disgusting human being.”
Musk has previously faced speculation over his ties to Epstein after a 2014 photo resurfaced showing him with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate later convicted of 𝑠e𝑥 trafficking. Musk has repeatedly said the photo was a “chance encounter at a party” and that he had no relationship with either Epstein or Maxwell.
Other High-Profile Figures Named
The schedules also noted a planned lunch between Epstein and billionaire investor Peter Thiel in November 2017, as well as a breakfast with Steve Bannon in February 2019. Whether those meetings actually occurred remains unclear.
Further documents referenced Prince Andrew joining Epstein on a 2000 flight from New Jersey to Florida and a December 2014 breakfast with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. Both Andrew and Gates have long faced public scrutiny over their connections to Epstein.
Democratic spokesperson Sara Guerrero said the files highlight Epstein’s “deep ties to some of the most powerful and wealthy men in the world.” Republicans, however, blasted the release as selective, accusing Democrats of focusing only on individuals linked to conservative politics while downplaying any Democratic connections.
Epstein’s Infamous Legacy
Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting 𝑠e𝑥 from a minor, serving just over a year in jail under a controversial plea deal with federal prosecutors. In July 2019, he was arrested again on charges of 𝑠e𝑥 trafficking minors but died by suicide in a federal jail cell weeks later, before trial.
The newly released records reignite pressure on the Justice Department to fully disclose Epstein’s files and clarify the extent of his relationships with influential figures across politics, technology, and finance.
