A world away from the celebrity lifestyle he leads today, Justin Bieber was born on 1 March 1994. He was raised in Stratford, a quaint city in southwest Ontario, by his single mother, Pattie Mallette. She gave birth to the star when she was 18 years old, and his early life was a humble one.

Growing up surrounded by his family, Bieber spent a lot of time staying at his grandparents’ home. In 2014, Bieber sold the palatial pad to Khloé Kardashian for an estimated $7.2 million (£5.5m), who has since sold it on for $15 million (£11.3m). The original sale took place after Bieber had a very public row with his neighbour, after he was said to throw eggs at the property.

In the summer of 2014 after selling his luxury mansion, Bieber took two apartments in a new building in swanky Beverly Hills. He rented a prestigious penthouse and the unit below, which was thought to be for his entourage. It wasn’t long before the young star was causing a stir in his new neighbourhood. Not long after he moved in, reports surfaced that the police had been called on a number of occasions amid excessive noise, earning him the unofficial title of the ‘worst neighbour ever’.

Much to the relief of his neighbours, Bieber departed the Beverly Hills condos in favour for this party pad that was rumoured to have cost him $29,500 (£21.6k) a month. Named The Lake Hollywood House it boasts a private nightclub, a movie theatre, state of the art sound system and a recording studio.

Bieber was still renting the two condos when he took on this gigantic pleasure palace. The house was purely used by the star to throw lavish parties – much to the dismay of his new neighbours. Spread over 16,000 square feet, the home is full of extravagant spaces including this living room which boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors that lead outside.

With 10 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, there would have been plenty of space for him and his friends. This master suite with its pink strip lighting and ensuite bathroom – complete with an illuminated hot tub – sets the tone for the rest of the opulent home.

Bieber only lived in the rented home for two months and was soon ready to move on. The transparency of the architectural marvel was said to cause privacy issues and Bieber even found fans trespassing on his property. Over the next two years, he spent his time drifting from rental to rental around the Los Angeles area, including a home in Toluca Lake in 2016.
