Terrible creature washed up on the shore looks like an 'alien monster'

Strange creatures that occasionally drift ashore make many people more curious about the mysteries at the bottom of the ocean.

The incident occurred at the Kennett River estuary on the southwest coast of Victoria, Australia. Couple Cath Rampton and Tom, while walking, suddenly discovered a strange, huge creature lying on the sand.

Although both husband and wife are veterinarians, they both admitted that they had never seen this creature before. Accordingly, the animal has a length and width of approximately 2 meters and looks strange like an alien monster.

“While walking, we suddenly saw a large block lying on the sand. I often visit this area, but this is the first time I’ve seen it ,” Tom said.

According to researchers, the creature the couple saw was an Ocean Sunfish. This is a fish that can reach an average length of 2.5 meters and weigh up to hundreds of kilograms. They can grow up to 3m in length and 4.2m in width, reaching a weight of about 2.5 tons.

These are creatures that belong to a vulnerable group in nature, so finding them is an extremely special thing.

Ralph Foster, a fish collector from the South Australian Museum, previously explained why so many sunfish wash up on beaches: “One of the biggest reasons is that they get hit by large ships at sea. This fish often dies when it eats a plastic bag, mistaking it for a jellyfish.”

Foster said each year he receives a number of reports of fish washing up on the South Australian coast. “They are actually quite common in Australian waters but are often concentrated offshore.”

Sunfish are found in tropical waters around the world and are often confused with sharks due to their fins. This fish is considered a delicacy in some parts of Asia including Japan , Korea and Taiwan.
